چکیده:

The purpose of this research was to synthesize different crosslinked core-shell acrylic resins and using them in a water-based acrylic traffic paint formulation to improve the paint performance. Two different crosslinkable acrylic monomers, namely n-methylol acrylamid (NMA) and di-acetone acryl amid (DAAM) were used. The crosslinkable acrylic monomers were used in shell composition in the range of 0.5-1.5 phr. The important properties of synthesized resins and traffic paints including resin and paint stability, swelling ratio, drying time, water resistance and abrasion resistance were evaluated. The results showed that both crossliking agents could improve the traffic paints performance, however, the extent of improvement was different. It was found that the performance of traffic paints having acrylic core-shell resins with 0.5 phr NAM or 1 phr DAAM in shell composition was the best among the prepared samples.
