چکیده:

This study was conducted to evaluate the mechanical properties of repair concretes: a cement based mix, a cement –based mix incorporating silica fume and a polymer modified – cement – based mix. Mechanical properties, such as compressive and tensile strength, elastic modulus and drying shrinkage were determined. Furthermore, the bonding characteristics of repair concrete to substrate were measured by threedifferent tests, including splitting bond test, slant shearing test and direct tensile test. The maximum compressive tensile and direct and splitting bonding strengths were observed for the silica fume incorporating mix. However , the shear bond strength of polymer- modified cement- based, concrete was higher than that of others. With regards to modulus of elasticity, the mix containing silica fume had the highest value among the three repair mixes. The latex modified mix had the lowest value of elastic modulus and the most compatible with the substrate concrete in this regard.
The latex modified mix had significantly lower drying shrinkage value than the other mixes which is considered advantageous in repair applications.
