چکیده:

Determination of dynamic characteristics of structures is of a great significance in various fields of science. These characteristics depend on mass and stiffness of the system in a way, any change in each of these parameters may lead to a substantial change in dynamic response of the system. By adding a small amount of carbon nano tubes (CNTs) it is possible to dramatically change the system’s dynamic characteristics due to their ability to affect mechanical properties of materials [1-3]. Economically speaking, optimizing the CNT distribution function is of a great importance because of the limited and expensive CNT supplies. In the present study, a 3-D model for a circular cylinder is developed with reference to the CNT dispersion function. In the next step, mass and stiffness matrices are obtained via Ritz method and natural frequencies of the structure are derived through solving the eigen value problem. Finally some graphs comparing the effect of different CNT distribution on mode shapes and natural frequencies are illustrated
