Because of improper management in irrigation methods, soil and water Salinization changes croplands into desert. In the agricultural activities not only water quantity is important, but also water quality has important role and bad quality has problems for soil. This research was carried out to investigation the effects of some chemical factors of irrigation water and effects on desertification of agriculture lands that is located in Segzi plain of Esfahan. For this purpose, three treatments were selected in case study that contains perennial water cultivation (Medicago) and annual water cultivation wheat and barley. Then derelict lands selected as a control sample. Then,collected water samples in treatments and factors such as acidity, salinity, color, sulfare, potassium, manyazium, calcium and sodium in treatments were measured. Dunkan test was used for comparison of water characteristic. The result of variance analysis showed there isn’t any significant difference between treatments of water factors except potassium. According to standard of irrigating water that have been suggested by Crystalline and Mojisted,plain water were classified in class3,because of EC>3m.s and total saline is more than 2000ppm.Therefor,the water is unsuitable for most of crops and is suitable for hardy crops and water quality is very unsuitable and as a result of high percent of color and sodium is poisonous water,dispit of the result of ground water classification of Segzi plain water by Wilcox diagram in 1993 that showed Segzi plain water were classified 6classes contain C2S1,C3S2,C3S1,C4S4,C4S2,C4S1.
