چکیده:

A comprehensive mathematical model is developed to simulate the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company’s (BIPC) polyvinyl chloride degassing column. Flory-Huggins model and Virial equation of state are used for prediction of equilibrium partition of monomer in slurry and vapor phases. Simulation results are in good agreement with plant data. Effects of operating variables such as inlet slurry and vapor flow rates, column top pressure are investigated. Increasing the steam flow rate by 20% causes 33% decrease in monomer content of the outlet slurry.
