چکیده:

CdS nano-particles, synthesized using chemical precipitation, was investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet–vis (UV–vis) and z-scan method.The UV-Visible spectrum of this material shows a peak absorption near 310 nm wavelength. Using the UV-Visible, the band gap of this nano-particle is obtained about 3.54 eV. X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD) shows that the obtained CdS nanostructures are of hexagonal phase and the average crystallite size is 1.2nm. As mentioned, the nonlinear refraction index of this nano-particle was measured in order of 10-7 (cm2/W) with positive sign and the nonlinear absorption coefficient was obtained in order of 10-3 (cm/W).
