چکیده:

In this paper, fragility curves and the method of developing them are discussed . then, this methods of seismic assessment of building is applied to evaluate seismic vulnerability of unreinforced masonry building , the type of buildings which are so common in IRAN . Fragility curves show the probability of exceeding a certain damage state versus a seismic intensity parameter. In pervious works done in this field, usually PGA (Peak Ground Acceleration) is chosen to shown the intensity of earthquake while, this parameter is not appropriately related to damage of structures. Therefore , in this research, CAV(Cumulative Absolute Velocity) id used instead of PGA in obtaining such curves. The uncertainty in structural parameters is considered in compressive and tensile strength of masonry, compressive strength of concrete and tensile strength of reinforcement . Monte Carlo simulation method is applied to prude ransom parameters based on their assigned probability distribution functions. Different models are analyzed with IDARC nonlinear analysis program and fragility curves are obtained based on the average and standard deviation of result. By comparing these curves before and after retrofitting of building , the effect of vertical and horizontal ties and reinforcements on the seismic performance of masonry building is shown.
