The mechanical properties of clay-reinforced nanocomposites such as fracture toughness are significant factors for assuring that defects are neither present, nor are severe enough to compromise performance of the material, and polymeric nanocomposites should be tested both prior, and during the life of the component. Some standard tests to determine the fracture toughness are destructive and the system must be halted. In the present study, since the relationship between vibration damping and fracture toughness in polymeric composite regards a major topic to assess the value of modeling, the vibration damping test is used as a none-destructive test (NDT) to determine the fracture toughness of nanocomposites without any damage to samples
