چکیده:

Electro jet drilling (EJD) is one of the advanced machining processes, which possess the necessary potential to cater to the needs of manufacturing industries in the areas of small hole drilling. This paper presents an attempt at modeling the process through the response surface methodology and a genetic algorithm. The material removal rate and radial overcut are the responses that have been modeled using a response surface model based on a central composite rotatable experimental design. A simple genetic algorithm (GA) code has been developed to optimize the EJD process for maximizing material removal subject to constraint on radial overcut and input variables.
