چکیده:

A steady state population balance model was developed for the prediction of the particle size distribution (PSD) in ethylene/propylene copolymerization. In the present model, the reactor was divided to four sections, each section containing bubble phase and emulsion phase. Differential equations of the population balance model were developed for each phase in each section and simultaneously solved to determine the PSD of the copolymer product. The effects of various fluidized bed operating conditions such as superficial gas velocity and the reactor temperature on the particle size distribution were investigated.
