چکیده:

A model describing the kinetic of suspension polymerization of styrene is presented. The moment method employed for the modeling. The model is based on the change of termination, propagation, transfer and initiation rate constants as polymerization proceeds. This model avoids the use of artificial onset points for diffusion restrictions. The model predictions for conversion and degree of polymerization presented good agreement with the experimental data up to high conversion for different polymerization temperatures and initiator loads. A modified log-normal distribution
function has been proposed for the first time which is capable of predicting molecular weight distribution in styrene free radical polymerization.
