In this research, we have investigated hydrogen sensing properties of electrodeposited Pd clusters on macroporous silicon substrates. The Si substrates were electrochemical etched in DMF (dimethylformamide) diluted by HF (%95 Vol.%) using current density of 3.9 mAcm-2 for 30 minutes. Then Pd was deposited by cyclic and linear voltammetry (CV and LV) techniques. Some samples were annealed at 300°C for an hour in air to stabilize their gas sensitivity. We observed CV method results dispersed cauliflower shape clusters on the surface that can behave as catalyst for hydrogen molecules. Annealing process reduces grains and improves sensitivity to about 54 for 1% hydrogen and response time about 18 sec. LV method produces a semi-continuous Pd layer that its gas sensitivity reduces after annealing process due to clustering. A model is introduced to qualitative discussion
