چکیده:

Although maximum demand in the interconnected power system is 29 per cent higher than the daily average load, but energy cost in peak hours is even lower because of hydrolic peaking plants contribution. Therefore. raising the demand in the deep of early morning hours is more effective for the system economy than lowering peak demand in present situation.
A direct method for managing demand is to apply different tariff rates for different periods of the day. In this paper the cost of energy in three periods of day are considered, but only two tariff rates are recommended. Moreover, the energy metering and billing practices are investigated to apply this method.
