چکیده:

This paper presents an improved scheme for image watermarking based on substitution modulation technique in wavelet transform domain. The nature of Multiresolution wavelet transform is exploited to embed watermark with multilevel approach. Local image characteristics such as textures, luminance and edges together with wavelet level adaptation are used to embed watermark with minimum loss in image fidelity and improved watermark extraction. The proposed watermark extraction is independent of the original image. Experimental results show performance improvement in extraction process in comparison with low frequency image watermarking using wavelets.
