Inappropriate results may be produced if one aims to evaluate neonatal cerebrcl images Jbr morphological studies using adult or pediatric atlases mainly due to the dffirences related to the early stage of development. In this paper, we introduce a method to create a neonatal brain template from a group of neonates aged between 39 to 42 weeks. Tlte created template contains two dffirent types oJ’ information in a single i mage: average of intensity and average shape. To evaluate ottr template a sh.tdy has been carried out analysing the variation of pre-deJined anatomical landmarks in the normalized images of neonate’s brain The results have been compared with those obtained after normalization using a template Jbr adults.
