چکیده:

One of the factors of reliability reduction in the structure is Crack on the edge of shear walls opening caused by the earthquake load. Even, destruction of the shear wallsduring an earthquake, in many cases is started with these cracks. In this study, Fiber Reinforced Polymers (FRP) on the edge of shear wall opening whit the finite elementsoftware ABAQUS for analysis are used. The effect of FRP and its arrangement at theedges of the openings with high stress concentration and Behavior of shear walls in theplastic area and cracks width caused by earthquake were evaluated. The results of thestudy showed that the use of FRP by the angle of 45 degree in the EMERYVILLE earthquake caused a 50% reduction in the width of the cracks
