چکیده:

This research is achieved in the general frame work of the study of the concrete behavior . It deals with the finite element analysis of the monotonic behavior of reinforced concrete .Numerical tool is developed to have a better understanding of the structural columns response under an increasing compressive loading . It is based on the elastic-plastic modeling. The compressive concrete is considered ad elastic – plastic .However the smeared crack hypothesis has been taken into account for for tensile cracking. Two failure criterions are considered . Concrete and reinforcing steel are represented by separate material models to describe the behavior of the composite reinforced concrete materials. There dimensional solid element and one dimensional element are adopted to represent the concrete and the steel reinforcement, respectively. Good agreementhas been observed in comparing numerical results with those issued from the literature.
