A Numerical model is developed to simulate tsunami waves caused by underwater earthquakes. The impulse wave characteristics are inspected which can be caused by geotechnical mass failure in an offshore earthquake. A high-order Boussinesq-type wave model is used to describe the nonlinearity and frequency dispersion of tsunami. A two-component perturbation method is applied to derive the highorder depth-integrated equations and boundary conditions. A higher order numerical scheme has used in a two-horizontal dimension for spatial and temporal discretisation of governing equations. The presented model is applied in some experimental cases and the results are in a good agreement.
