In order to evaluate coning in naturally fracture reservois (NFRs), numerical simulation has been performed using actual data of a well in Asmari formation. Based on results of the simulation, it has been identified that oil production rate has the main effect on water production behavior. Sensitivity analysis on matrix and fracture porosities has shown that breakthrough time is more sensitive to fracture porosity and water cut is more sensitive to matrix porosity. Sensitivity analysis on horizental and vertical permeabilities in matrix and fracture has shown that breakthrough time is more sensitive to horizental fracture permeability and vertical fracture permeability, and water cut is more sensitive to horizental fracture permeability and horizental matrix permeability.Matrix block size does not have any specific effect onbreakthrough time and water cut in the formation with this conditions.Using the results, reservoir studies can be performed by understanding effect offracture and matrix properties on water production behavior. The simulation outputs were also used to develop water coning correlations as quick engineering estimationsThe purpose in this approach is to develop a method suitable for hand calculations to predict breakthrough time and water cut at each time after cone breakthrough for a specific oil production rate.
