In this work CFD simulation of the gas-liquid flow in rectangular bubble column is studied. Bubble columns are widely used in industrial gas-liquid operations, their design and scale-up is still a difficult task and subject to error, due to generally complex structure of the multiphase flow encountered in this type of equipment. A standard ε−k model is used to describe turbulence occurring in the continuous fluid and the Euler-Euler approach (Two-fluid model) is used to describe the equations of motion of the two-phase flow. Numerical calculations were performed with using the commercial code CFD. Good quantitative agreement with reference experimental data is obtained for hydrodynamic parameter.
