چکیده:

Objective:With reference to my experiences as General Physician and Health,Safety and Environment(HSE) manager to the(Iranian) and international Industries(Pakistan),government and private, there are too many industrial disorders/diseases etc.related to the Technical Inspection and Non-DestructiveTesting(NDT) related Industries, inspite of having achieved the OHSAS 18001:1999 Occupational Health and Safety standard certification, but it lacks important items e.g.intent,typical inputs, processes, typical outputs, etc. In this regard OHSAS 18002:2000 has been developed which explains the underlying principles of OHSAS 18001:1999 and describes the intent, typical inputs, processes, typical outputs against each requirement of OHSAS 18001. This is to aid understanding and implementation of OHSAS 18001.Each department produces specific disorders and diseases in these industries workers and affects the well being of employees, temporary workers, contractor personnel, visitors and any other persons in the workplace too.The purpose of this paper is to establish a flawless Occupational Health and Safety management system in these industries.
Methods:Thus we adopted the OHSAS18002:2000 Standard in our Occupational Health and Safety management system by implementing the said lacking items of OHSAS18001:1999 i.e.Intent,Typical Inputs,Processes,Typical Outputs into the previously existing OHSAS18001:1999 Management System.
Results:We obtained least reports and complaints of disorders and diseases in these industries workers and observed no affections on the well being of employees, temporary workers, contractor personnel, visitors and any other persons in the workplace too.
Conclusion: Because of the importance of the subject it is necessary that the Technical Inspection and NDT related industries be informed about OHSAS 18002:2000 so that a complete understanding of and implementation of OHSAS 18001: 1999 be provided.
