چکیده:

Geometry and operation of a Primary microbubble generator, an industrial naval apparatus used for drag reduction, was optimized according to numerical analysis. In primary cylindrical model water-air enters the device via six diagonal nozzles, passing a rotational trace around central motionless rod; air particles are broken up to tiny bubbles which are used to decrease the frictional drag in common surface of water and moving solid bodies. To improve the operation of the apparatus, proposed geometrical shapes were investigated numerically and optimized based on bubbles breaking-up effective parameters. The experimental results illustrated high efficiency in operation of the recent apparatus.
