چکیده:

The paper deals with the cif the optimal design dis cherge (Qi m3 /s) or the installed capacity (NiW) of Ostour HPP short descriptin of the mechanical machanical and equipment And civil wor k s,Three HPP installed capacities examined (80 120 and 160 MW) for the addopted arch
dam Alternative. CapaCity Of OSToUR is selected in accordance with the irigation water requairments as the main objwctive . It is planned to provide the Normal Reservoir Water Level at 1058 mASL at the first Stage of the operation. This will create a reservoir of 1951capacity MCM initial capacity . In the second stage of the Project some 25 years after the commencement of the work.s, the norml water level will be increased to 1065 mASL , in orderder to provide reservoir capacity of 2495 MCM This will compensate a Part of Silting of reservoir and prolongate the
service life time of the dam and its proper functioning. The representative values of B/C ratio, and the net benefits are plotted for two policies of ‘ the reservatir operation ( with and Without “chasse”) it is to be stressed that the peak value of B/C belongs to the installed capacity of about 100 MW (Without “chasse”) and less than 80 MW (with “chasse”) . Meanhile the peak value of the net benefit. belongs to 160 MW installed capacity in bout of the “chasse” operations. Examination of the economic characteristics suggest that the 160 MW installed capacity is to be adopted as a optimal one, with the total volume capacity of the reservoir of 2.5 km3.
