چکیده:

The northern Gulf of Oman is strongly influenced by outflow from Persian Gulf .The manner in which the PGW enters the deep Gulf of Oman is not clear from available data. Outflow from Strait of Hormuz (S-H) is based on the law of potential vorticity conservation of outflow layer with the still lower layer of Open Ocean. Water temperature profiles of this strait indicate a narrow geostrophic flow at a distance from the coast. Its width may be predicted from the transport according to the abovementioned law. We obtain a good agreement between the profiles and estimated values.We calculated a (the distance of adjustment)and Da (the outflow thickness after adjustment) about 25 km and 40 m on May and July
