Risk Analysis is one of the most important parts of Risk Based Inspection (RBI) which all of the inspection planning is based on the result of Risk Analysis. Theprimary purpose of risk analysis is: Detennining the risk of each equipment in the plant and ranking the equipment based on the calculated risk.There are three approaches to risk analysis: • Qualitative · • Semi-quantitative • Fully-quantitative Qualitative risk analysis is based on engineering judgment. In semi-quantitativerisk analysis we are worlcing with numerical values which are assigned. to the likelihood and consequence of a failure based on the reference standards. In aquantitative risk analysis the likelihood and consequence of failure are determined from the underlying distributions of the variables using reliability analysis methods. Calculation of the risk and analyzing the data is a complicated procedure. We canuse the computer programming to analyze the risk. In this project we are going to design a software which uses the semi-quantitative risk analysis based on APIPublication 581 – Base Resource Document to detennine the Risk of various equipments.
