چکیده:

The permeation of CO2 and O2 through a chitosan membrane was studied. A chitosan membrane exhibited large gas permeability when it was swollen by water. This high permeability of chitosan for CO2 resulted from a basic property of the amino groups in the chitosan molecules. The membrane preparation method such as acetic acid concentration of the casting solution affected the membrane permeability. Also crosslinking of the membrane was very effective on O2 permeability.
