چکیده:

The photo-degradation of isotactic polypropylene (PP) films containing amono-azo pigment and hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) has been undertaken. Polypropylene films exposed to medium pressure mercury lamp radiationin the laboratory for periods of up to 8 weeks and the degree of oxidation anddeterioration of the irradiated samples was followed by a number of methodsincluding infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry as well as bymeasuring changes in the mechanical properties, contact angle and density. Theresults of these measurements indicate that by adding an organic pigment in thepolypropylene with hindered amine light stabilizers no significant change in theUV stability of PP films sample occurred
