Paper and slide presentation illustrate innovative techniques developed to grout pump baseplates and large reciprocating compressors or diesel engines. The damping of high frequency vibration of pump baseplates assemblies and resultant 3-fold increase in pump seal life will be supported with field operating data which originates within ESSO. A specialized resin chocking technique used in conjunction with epoxy grout will be illustrated and explained as it relates to maintenance of bearing and crankshaft alignment within reciprocating compressors. Finally, the selection criteria for epoxy grouting materials which are user friendly and compatible with underlying concrete foundations in countries with high anbient temperatures will be analyzed.
