چکیده:

In this research new formula has been derived for calculation of irregular wave reflection coefficient from rubble mound seawalls. The research has been carried out using physical modeling method. The experimental tests were performed in the wave flume of soil Conservation and Watershed Managment Research Center (SCWMRC). The wave flume of SCWMRC is equipped with an advanced wave generator system that is able to generate both regular and irregular waves. The system is consisting of a piston-type paddle, a generator system, hardware and software parts.
The model structure covered with Antifer, Tetrapod and stone Armour units. The experimental tests were performed using irregular wave with different significant wave heights, peak wave periods and structure slopes.
Irregular, peak wave were generated in all tests with JONSWAP spectrum type. The structure slopes were 1: 1.5, 1:2; 1:2.5 and 1:3. Totally 186 tests were performed.
The experimental results led to new non-dimensional parameters and formulas for calculation of reflection coefficients from rubble mound seawalls. The results also have been plotted as some graphs related to these new non-dimensional parameters
