چکیده:

The slender body theory and exact solutions of Euler equations were applied to calculate axisymmetric bodies and 2D airfoils with negative pressure gradients at the surface. Such shapes could ensure an unseparated flow pattern and improve the cavitation inception characteristics (for vehicles moving in water). Experimental investigations of axisymmetric shapes with specific pressure distribution are presented. Some of such forms ensure unseparated flow pattern at relative small Reynolds numbers.
