Microtremor measurements were made at 20 locations in Bam and Baravat City on Feb.18 to 22.2004.Questionnaire survey and count of the number of collapsed buildings were also conducted at 18 locations. The relations between damage to houses and seismic intensity estimated by the questionnaire. and the peak period of H/V spectrum of microtremor are discussed. The peak period of H/V spectrum of microtremor in severely damaged areas is estimated to be about 0.5 seconds which turned out to be larger that of less damaged area. The JMA seismic intensity derived from recorded wave from marks 6.1, and that derived from questionnaire survey 6.0 on average gives fairly good agreement. From the results of questionnaire survey and collapse rate of each building types, high contrast of the collapse rate between unreinforced masonry and reinforced masonry might indicate that the seismic intensity in severely damaged area was 6 in JMA scale (9 to 10 in Modified Mercali Intensity Scalw)
