چکیده:

Wear of wheel/rail system has been of concern to many researchers since many years ago. Economical aspects and maintenance cost are the very two common reasons for the vast research done recently. In the present research a new mode of wear of wheels called unsymmetrical wheel wear is investigated. This damage is observed based on measurements done on a test train in the northeastern part of the Iranian railroad. Some useful and practical guidelines are also proposed to prevent this kind of damage in the related passenger trains.
