In This paper we consider a new technique of reducing exergy losses and entropy generation of external viscous flow over surfaces with constant heat flux, based on optimized open microchannels embedded within the surface. The skin friction coefficient and the rate of heat transfer are computed and discussed in detail for various values of slip coefficient. The rate of entropy production and optimal Reynolds number are formulated by an integral of local entropy generation. The optimized width and height of each microchannel are investigated by using different parameters. For solving this problem, we require simultaneous modeling of both slip-flow and no-slip conditions at the wall.
