A mathematical model for the sorption of sulphur dioxide from air by lime in an aggregative fluidized bed has been proposed based on two phase flow and unreacted core scheme. To solve the proposed model a computer program is presented. The outlet of this program reveals the effects of various parameters such as temperature, inlet gas velocity, particle diameter and inlet concentration on the rate ofadsorption. To evaluate the proposed model a pilot-scaled plant is erected and the obtained experimental data are compared with the predicted values by the model. A good agreement is observed between these values.
