Shape control of structures, with special emphasis upon piezoelectric control actuation has found an enormous range of applications in recent years. In shape control one intends to specify the spatial distribution, or the shape, of an actuating control agency, such that the displacement field of a structure distorted from its original shape. So genetic algorithm piezoelectric design optimization is presented which includes searching for the optimal applied voltage distribution and piezoelectric configurations. Because of simultaneous voltage distribution and piezoelectric configurations design results show great improvement over methods which only applied optimal voltage distribution design for modification and the correction of the shape of mechanical structures by piezoelectric actuators.
