چکیده:

The slip velocity of phases in a 76.2 mm diameter pilot scale pulsed packed column has been measured for two different liquid-liquid systems with and without mass transfer. The effects of operational variables such as pulsation intensity, dispersed and continuous phases flow rates and solute concentration on slip velocity were investigated. Also, a new empirical correlation in terms of pulsation intensity, physical properties of liquid systems and superficial velocity of dispersed phase and continuous phase is given for prediction slip velocity, which was developed from the measurements. Also by means of which the dispersed phase holdup was calculated and very good agreement between calculated values and experimental was obtained.
