Nowadays creep feed grinding is employed as an appropriate method for machining of gas turbine superalloy vanes which provides a high material removal rate alongwith a desired surface roughness. In this article, the process of creep feed grinding of gas turbine cobalt-base superalloy vane is studied by using of statistical design of experiment method. The effect of grinding parameters such as feed rate , depth of cut and grinding wheel speed has been analyzed on surface integrity. A model has been developed for surface roughness. Also surface integrity has been studied by measuring of surface roughness and analysis of surface topography by using Scanning Electron Microscope( SEM) and measuring micro hardness of layers.
