چکیده:

Objective: Streptococcus is a large type of Gram-positive, spherical, non-motile, non-spore. Bacteria require the compound environment for growth. The most acute state of the diseases occurs when water temperature is above 20 C. This disease has caused serious economic damage to the trout industry of Iran. The aim of this study was to detect the level of disease in farmed trout in the Haraz region of crowded trout farming.
Method & Materials: Sampling (ninety samples) was done from the fish with blackness of skin and protruding of eyes which mainly gathered in the exit of pool. Bacteria cultures were obtained from the kidney and or spleen of fish. The isolated bacteria were identified using routine bacteriological examination. In addition, some water quality factors including pH and water temperature were measured during sample collection. Also anti-biogram tests were carried out to determine the range of sensitivity of isolated bacteria.
Results & Conclusion: The obtained results showed that 30 samples were positive having both Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria. The bacteriological studies resulted in isolation and characterization of 15 samples as Streptococcus probably iniae species. The anti-biogram tests also resulted in sensitivity of these isolates to Penicillin and Erythromycin but were resistant to Enrofloxacin, Flumequin, and tetracycline. This study shows that trout farming in Haraz region are affected of with Streptococcosis causing significant losses
