Sulfur Coated Urea (SCU) as a kind of slow release fertilizer with high efficiency and good response for plants is used widely in modern agricultural industries. Unfortunately, Urea as leading source of nitrogen fertilizer has low efficiency (40%), high loss, high emission of soil and water resources with nitrate and nitrite, reduction of micronutrients absorption in high pH soils with plants etc. Sulfur as a vital substance in protein structure and plant organs, reduction of soil pH and preparing good condition for micronutrients absorption by plant, has an important role. Also high yields of good quality produce become possible only when crops have access to optimum amounts of sulphur. Thus using of sulfur coated urea as a suitable and new fertilizer that avoid and reduce such losses and increase agronomical efficiency in the whole agricultural crops is recommended specially for rice fields by agricultural research institutes. In this paper based on researches that were done in laboratory and pilot plant, we could produce different kind of sulfur coated urea samples. Deep investigation of the process and finding important parameters of this process were done. Based on these researches important parameters that affect on nitrogen dissolution rate were determined. In addition, different type of sealants were prepared and tested first in the laboratory and then in the pilot plant.
