Fluidized bed drying with superheated-steam is a newly alternative approach instead of using the conventional hot air and flue gasses. The drying characteristics of sugar beet pulp in superheated-steam at three temperature (140, 165 and 210°C), three velocities (0.62, 0.70 and 0.83 m/s) and three particle size of samples (3, 5 and 6mm) under atmospheric pressure were studied. Decreasing in moisture content of the samples increased, with increasing the superheated-steam temperature. Decreasing in particle size of samples had the same effect. Increasing the velocity of superheated-steam did not affect the drying characteristics of the samples dehydrated.
