Objective: In this study, in order to isolate Saprolegnia parasitica, sampling were carried out from one of the salmonid propagation farms in Mazandaran Province.
Method & Materials: A total of 100 fungal cotaminated eggs were isolated and then referred to Aquatic Animal Health Labratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of University of Tehran, in sterile tube containing distillated water and hempseed. The mycological studies including preparation of wet smear, culture in specialized media (such as SDA, CMH and GPA) and microscopic observation were done, accordingly.
Results & Conclusion: Fungi species and genus were identified based on sexual and asexual organs (cooker). Fungi that were isolated in this study were: Saprolegnia parasitica with 42.115 frequency, Saprolegnia sp. with 26.325 frequency, Achyla sp. 15.795 frequency and another fungi 15.785 frequency. Saprolegnia parasitica with 42.11 frequency was the most agent fungal salmonid egg contamination.
