چکیده:

Lithium batteries have the highest energy density of all rechargeable batteries and are favoured in application, where low weight or small volume are desired for example:laptop computers, cellular telephones and electric vehicles.LiCoO2 has been commercially available for manufacturing Li-ion batteries scince the early 1990s.[1].One of the limitation of present commercial lithium butteries is the high cost of the LiCoO2 cathode material.Search for a replacement material that, like LiCoO2 ,intercalates metal oxides.Manganese oxide ,LiMnO2, with its high-theoretic capacity (285 mAhg-1), low price and environmental friendliness seem to be an attractive alternative cathode material.Different methods of preparation of LiMnO2 have been reported by manyWorkers such as:high-temperatuer solid state reaction and co-pericipitation.In these methods the average diameters of the particles are about 2-15mμ.[۲].In this paper we try to prepare this compound via the sol-gel process with good homogeneity and smaller size
