Boron carbide (B4C) is well known for its high melting point, outstanding hardness, low specific weight high modulus, high chemical stability, good wear resistance and high neutron absorption cross-section and so forth.In this paper reports that the boron carbide nanoparticles have been fabricated through a chemical method with PVA poly vinyl alcohol) and boric acid as precursors.In this method first, precursors have been pyrolized at 800°C for 150 min in air , and then products have been heated in Ar flow at 1500°C for 90 min. Synthesis ofboron carbide nano particles have been investigated at one PVA(poly vinyl alcohol)to boric acid weight ratio scenarios included of 2.2. then characterization of boron carbide nanoparticles have been studied by FTIR, XRD and SEM.
