Lead is a harmful metal element that has aroused considerable concern; therefore, it is of great importance to develop sensitive and reliable analytical techniques for the precise monitoring of lead in variousfoodstuff and environmental samples. In the present study, an enrichment and separation procedure based on magnetic manganese ferrite/graphene oxide nanocomposites (MnFe2O4/GO), developed as an new adsorbent to determinationPb(II) by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The MnFe2O4/GO was prepared by a facile approach and characterized by SEM, FT-IR, AGFM and EDAX. The effects of pH, the amount of adsorbent, extraction time, typeand volume of eluent, desorption time and interfering ions on the extraction efficiency were optimized. The preconcentration factor is 80.84, detection limit is 2.9 ng mL−۱ and linear analytical range is from 5 to 600 ng mL−۱٫ This method employed successfully for samples water, fish, rice and soil.
