چکیده:

Lead sulfide nanoparticles were synthesized, using 2-mercaptoethanol. It has been found that the electronic absorption spectra as well as the particle sizes depend on the used capping agents. Two exitonic peaks at 355 and 580 nm were observed when the capping with 2-mercaptoethanol was used. TEM studies of the samples suggest that the particle sizes vary between 15 and 50 nm. X-ray diffraction patterns of our nanoparticles exhibit the PbS characteristic peaks and the estimated nanoparticle sizes were found to be in agreement with TEM studies
