Conductive fibers could be used in applications such as conductive composites and high surface area electrodes in electrochemistry. In this study we have used cellulose fibers as templates to be deposited by silver nanoparticles. The layer was deposited by reduction of Ag complexes on the surface. The coating morphology is uniform. Heating of the fibers results the formation of pure silver fibers that could be shown excellent conductivity. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and BET (Brunauer–Emmett–Teller) analysis were employed for characterization
