چکیده:

Barium hexaferrite can be used for permanent magnets, magnetic-recording media and microwave applications because of the adequate combination of low cost and good magnetic properties. In this work, barium hexaferrite nanoparticles were prepared by sol-gel method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) experiments were conducted to evaluate structural properties of the samples. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the dried sol calcined at 1000 oC show the formation of single-phase Barium hexaferrite. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) micrographs showed nano-sized particles of prepared BaFe12O19 with mean particle size of around 20 nm. Furthermore, the grain size of the prepared BaFe12O19 was about 5 nm. High values of coercivity field and high saturation magnetization are obtained for prepared nanoparticles
