Alumina-based hybrid nanocomposite reinforced by zirconia nanoparticles/alumina microparticles with semisolidmethod can be a major concern for making of metal matrix nanocomposites. In this study, the hybrid metal matrix nanocomposites fabricated based on semi-solid and squeezing methods. First the reinforcements were depositedby suspension method on the aluminum sheets and the sheets were heated at 610 to 650 °C in semi-solid state of aluminum. Then the semi-solid mixture was squeezed under hot pressing. The microstructure was studied by opticaland scanning electron microscopy. Also the hardness and compressive strength of the produced composites were studied. The results showed that the suspension parameters and semi-solid process reduced the particles agglomerationin the composites. The hardness and compressive strength of the nanocomposites were improved for lower weight percent of reinforcements. In nanocomposites with more than 3 wt% reinforcements, the mechanical properties decreased due to the particles agglomeration.
