چکیده:

Time series modeling of monthly rainfall for 28 capital cities of Iran have been performed in this study in order to determine regional climate regions in Iran. The results of time series modeling have showed a high variability of temporal pattern of monthly rainfall over Iran except the
margins of Caspian Sea and Persian Gulf. We also found that the correlation between seasonal autocorrelation coefficient and coefficient of variation (C,) and height of the stations is significant while lag one autocorrelation does not correlate to C, and height. Different models also imply the high variability in spatial rainfall producing mechanism and different stationary and periodicity of rainfall temporal pattern over Iran.
