چکیده:

In this study, the effect of Triton X-100 as non-ionic surfactant on nanostructure of polyethersulfone membranes was investigated. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) was employed to analyze the roughness and surface morphology of membranes. The membrane prepared without surfactant exhibited relatively large pores in selected surface area and the formation of nodules on membrane surface was approximately reduced. It seems that the surface pore density of this membrane is very low. The membrane with typical nodular structure and interconnected cavity channels is formed when Triton X-100 is used as surfactant in the casting solution.
